We are very pleased with the concrete restoration. Our outdoor carpet was worn out and we wanted a fresh new look. Friends posted that they liked the new look for their driveway and we went to see it. Alex came out and did an excellent job of explaining the process, the warranty and that we would not need to wait a long time for the work to be done. He even gave us some input on possible color choices. Jason and Justin were very efficient and friendly. We felt part of the process. Area services does an excellent job of Customer Service and keeping you informed.

I had them install closed cell spray foam insulation in my home. The sealed my rim joists in my basement insulated the ceiling and wall in my 2car garage. The guys that came out and did the job were very professional and kept things clean throughout the process. Area Home Services reccomends a blower door test before and after the insulation install to show what the difference in a infiltration was with sealing qualities of the closed cell insulation, as well as to show where air infiltration may be in the home. Will definitely use them in the future for home and appliance repairs.

Frequently Asked Questions
How Do Electric Gates Work?
Electric gates operate using automated systems controlled via remote controls or mobile applications. A motor drives the gate, and various safety features like sensors and automatic stops are integrated to prevent accidents. Systems can be powered by mains electricity with battery backups for uninterrupted performance.
For added efficiency, many systems now include smart integration, allowing homeowners and businesses in Quincy and nearby areas to control their gate operations from virtually anywhere using just a smartphone or tablet. Additionally, some installations are equipped with intercom systems and cameras, providing an additional layer of security as you can visually confirm who is requesting access before remotely opening the gate.
How long does an electric gate installation typically take in Quincy, IL?
The duration of an electric gate installation in Quincy, IL, varies based on the gate type and the complexity of the site. A straightforward installation of a pre-fabricated gate and opener might be completed within 1 to 2 days. However, custom gate fabrication, extensive site preparation (like laying tracks for sliding gates), complex electrical wiring, or integrating with advanced access control systems can extend the installation time to several days or even a week. Your installer will provide an estimated timeline during the consultation phase.
Can an electric gate operate during a power outage?
Many electric gate systems are designed with features to operate during a power outage. Common solutions include a battery backup system, which automatically takes over when the main power is interrupted, allowing for continued operation for a limited number of cycles. Alternatively, most electric gates come with a manual release mechanism, which allows you to disengage the motor and open or close the gate by hand in the event of a power failure or system malfunction, ensuring you're never locked in or out of your property.
What Gate Maintenance is Required?
Regular maintenance is crucial to ensure the longevity of your electric gate. This includes checking mechanical parts for wear, testing automation systems, and ensuring sensors are working correctly. Routine maintenance can prevent costly repairs and ensure smooth operation over the long term.
It is recommended to have a professional service your electric gate at least once a year to inspect all components thoroughly. In Quincy, where seasonal weather can have variable impacts, addressing rust, lubrication of moving parts, and check-ups on electrical connections are vital to maintain resilience and functionality through the seasons.
Are There Local Regulations for Gate Installation in Quincy?
Yes, there are specific regulations concerning the installation and operation of electric gates in Quincy. This includes compliance with safety standards, property boundaries, and electrical codes. It's essential to work with a service provider familiar with these regulations to avoid potential fines or complications.
These regulations may also cover aspects such as fire safety protocols, ensuring that emergency access is not hindered, and maintaining consistent public safety standards. Collaborating with a knowledgeable installer ensures that your electric gate is both lawful and functional, integrating seamlessly into the local infrastructure.
