Deck Painting in Quincy, IL
One Local Team for Deck Repair, Prep, & Painting in Quincy, Illinois
At Area Home Services, deck painting is part of a full deck care capability handled by one local team. We’re a family- and veteran-owned business based in Quincy, IL, and our insured professionals bring a checklist-backed process to every project. Quincy’s Mississippi River valley climate drives how we prep surfaces and which paints we recommend. The humidity, wide temperature swings, and UV exposure here put real stress on outdoor wood, and that shapes every decision before a brush touches a board.
We serve Quincy, Adams County, and the surrounding Tri-State region. Our free estimates cover the painting work and any repairs your deck needs before refinishing begins.
Call (573) 594-4513 to schedule your free deck painting estimate in Quincy. We can walk you through what your deck needs and what to expect at each step.Paint Types for Exterior Deck Surfaces
Deck paint sits on top of the wood as a surface coating rather than penetrating the grain the way stain does. That distinction matters for a walking surface, where foot traffic, standing water, and sunlight all work against the finish over time. Paint intended for a deck floor should carry an exterior floor rating and often includes an anti-slip texture for safety.
We work with acrylic latex paints, UV-resistant paints, mildew-resistant paints, and oil-based paints for exterior surfaces. Selection depends on sun exposure, local weather, and the surface material. Oil-based formulations penetrate deeper and resist wear well. Water-based acrylic options dry faster, clean up more easily, and hold up against cracking and peeling through freeze-thaw cycles. Where a single project calls for different formulations on different surfaces, we match them so color and finish stay consistent throughout.
What to Expect During a Deck Painting Project
Our process follows a structured sequence so nothing gets missed from preparation through final coat. A typical deck restoration starts with a thorough cleaning to remove mildew, dirt, and loose material. From there, we address damaged boards or fasteners before any paint goes down. Painting and sealing come last, once the surface is sound and clean.
You’ll receive clear communication at each stage. We confirm appointments in advance, walk you through what we find during the assessment, and check in again before we close out the job. The checklist behind every project keeps the sequence consistent whether it’s a one-day repaint or a multi-day restoration.

"They problem solved to get a new laundry room floor put in and it looks great!"
Replaced laundry room floor with new linoleum which involved tearing up old linoleum and cutting new linoleum to fit around pipes, drain, and water heater. Both men worked well together and had to think "outside the box" when linoleum would not adhere around drain or floor was not smooth. They problem solved to get a new laundry room floor put in and it looks great!

We had Area Home Services level and resurface our patio, chose the Desert Sand fleck. It looks phenomenal with our tan siding. Kimberly and Skylar did an excellent job, were professional, courteous, and communication was great from the estimate to the finished job. Responded to questions promptly and they were on time, price was fair, and quality of work was excellent. Highly recommend!

Deck Painting in Quincy, IL with Area Home Services
Deck and patio work at Area Home Services is led by David Arns, a U.S. Army veteran with roots in the Quincy community. That background shapes how projects are run: structured, thorough, and accountable. Our close-knit family team applies the same approach on every job, and the checklist-based process we use isn’t a formality. It’s how we support quality when the work involves more than one trade.
Because our team handles deck construction, repair, patio installation, and surface coatings, a deck painting project can include board replacement or fastener repairs without bringing in a second contractor. One team, one schedule, one point of contact from assessment through cleanup. That’s the practical difference of working with a crew that does more than paint.
