decorative chip & Clear Coating Warranty

1 Year Workmanship Warranty (Labor)

Area Home Services provides a one (1) year labor workmanship warranty on all concrete coating installations. This warranty covers defects in installation workmanship that may arise within one (1) year from the date of installation.

If a defect is determined to be the result of workmanship during this period, Area Home Services will repair the affected area at no additional labor cost to the original purchaser.

This warranty applies to labor only and does not include materials unless otherwise specified.

This warranty does not cover damage or failure resulting from factors beyond our control, including but not limited to: moisture or vapor transmission from the concrete substrate, structural movement, improper use, abuse, neglect, environmental conditions, or failure to follow recommended care and maintenance guidelines.

This warranty is non-transferable and applies only to the original purchaser. It is provided in lieu of all other expressed or implied warranties to the extent permitted by Illinois law.

Manufacturer Warranty (Decorative Chip Materials)

Decorative chip coating systems are backed by a Limited Lifetime Warranty for residential applications and a one (1) year warranty for commercial applications, provided the product is installed and maintained according to manufacturer specifications. When properly installed, these coatings are warranted not to yellow due to UV exposure and will resist peeling, chipping, separation, or delamination from the concrete substrate under normal use conditions. This warranty applies to coatings installed on properly prepared interior or exterior surfaces. In the event of a verified product defect or coating failure, Area Home Services’ sole obligation under this warranty is limited to providing replacement materials for the affected area. Labor, shipping, taxes, and any additional costs are not included unless otherwise stated. All warranty claims must be evaluated by an Area Home Services representative or approved installer prior to any repair work to determine eligibility and cause of failure. This warranty applies only to the original purchaser and the original installation location and is non-transferable.

Warranty Conditions: This warranty is valid only when products are installed in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and all applicable local building codes. Proper surface preparation is required, including mechanical grinding of the concrete to remove all existing coatings, sealers, curing compounds, contaminants, and any substances that may interfere with adhesion. Use of unapproved products, improper mixing, or deviation from installation specifications will void this warranty.

Warranty Exclusions: This warranty does not cover damage or failure resulting from factors beyond the control of the manufacturer or installer, including but not limited to: improper installation, misuse, abuse, neglect, impact damage, cuts, burns, fire, or accidents; exposure to harsh chemicals, corrosive substances, or extreme heat (over 250°F); moisture vapor transmission, hydrostatic pressure, or other substrate-related conditions; structural movement or cracking of the concrete; rust or iron oxide staining; or normal wear and tear. Cracks in the concrete substrate, whether existing or occurring after installation, are not covered under this warranty. Area Home Services is not responsible for moisture testing or conditions originating from the concrete slab. This warranty is limited solely to the replacement of defective materials and does not cover incidental or consequential damages.

Care & Maintenance Guidelines – Decorative Chip Coatings

To maintain the longevity and appearance of your concrete coating, regular cleaning and proper care are recommended. Sweep or dust the surface regularly to remove dirt and debris, as these can cause scratching over time. For routine cleaning, use mild, non-abrasive, and properly diluted cleaners such as Simple Green, Pine-Sol, CLR, or Dawn dish soap. Avoid the use of acids or highly corrosive materials, and limit prolonged exposure to bleach. After snow or ice events, promptly remove sand and salt and rinse the surface with water; a squeegee can be helpful for removing excess water. For heavier cleaning, apply a suitable cleaner and allow it to sit for 5–10 minutes, then scrub with a deck brush or stiff-bristled broom, allow it to sit briefly again, and rinse thoroughly. To prevent damage, do not use metal shovels or plows on the surface. Following these guidelines will help preserve the durability, performance, and appearance of your concrete coating for years to come.

Safety Disclaimer: Please note that coated surfaces may become slippery, especially when wet or exposed to certain substances. While slip-resistant additives may be applied, no surface can be guaranteed to be slip-proof. Area Home Services is not liable for any injuries resulting from slips or falls. It is the responsibility of the property owner to maintain safe conditions for all users.

Care & Maintenance Guidelines – RevaFlex Coatings

To maintain the longevity, safety, and appearance of your RevaFlex rubber coating, regular cleaning and proper care are recommended. Keep the surface free of dirt and debris by sweeping or blowing it off as needed to prevent buildup and premature wear. For routine cleaning, use a mild, non-abrasive cleaner with water and rinse thoroughly to remove residue. Avoid the use of harsh chemicals, solvents, or highly corrosive cleaning agents, as these can damage the surface over time. Promptly clean spills and avoid prolonged exposure to oils, chemicals, or standing water. For deeper cleaning, a soft-bristle brush or low-pressure wash can be used to remove embedded dirt. Avoid dragging heavy or sharp objects across the surface, as this may cause cuts or damage. Following these guidelines will help preserve the durability, flexibility, and overall performance of your RevaFlex surface for years to come.

Warranty Claim Process

Clear photos of the affected area must be submitted to properly evaluate the claim. Area Home Services reserves the right to inspect the reported issue and verify warranty eligibility, including coordination with the manufacturer or an authorized third-party inspector if necessary. Labor, shipping, and any additional costs, including price increases since the original installation, are not included unless otherwise stated in writing.

Paid Repairs: Damage resulting from substrate movement, cracking, settling, misuse, accidents, or other non-warranty conditions can be repaired at the customer’s expense. Repair services are available with a minimum service charge starting at $250.

No representative, employee, or agent of Area Home Services is authorized to modify or extend any warranty beyond what is provided in writing. Any implied warranties, including merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose, are limited to the duration of the applicable warranty period. Area Home Services shall not be liable for incidental or consequential damages, including but not limited to damage resulting from water intrusion or related conditions.

Some states do not allow limitations on implied warranties or the exclusion of incidental or consequential damages, so these limitations may not apply. We recommend retaining this warranty certificate for your records. Proof of purchase and/or product batch information may be required to validate warranty coverage; if unavailable, the warranty period may be based on the product’s manufacture date.
